One of Owen's bedtime stories last night was How Whales Walked Into The Sea by Faith McNulty. It's a really fascinating book about the evolution of whales from land animals to sea dwellers. It also sparked an interesting conversation about "how do they know".
So this morning he woke and asked for humpback whale calls. Yay youtube!
We started with this one.
Jumped through a lot of clips about dolphins and orcas and then moved on to my favorite, the blue whale.
Owen didn't like the computer animation of this one (I did though) but got hooked once they started showing the real whales. Especially the very end with the slow motion of one's tail!
