Mmmmm, potatoes.
Cucumbers on the other hand. Sigh. This happened two years ago. They turn yellow and very bitter to the point of being inedible. I googled and there are 47 different reasons why this could happen. Too much water, too little water, too hot, too cold, incomplete pollination (slacker bees?). Maybe I should take the soil to an extension office and get it tested because that's the only thing I can actually do something about.
Well, they're still good for something.

Good idea to get the soil tested. You are very good to cutting through the bs of stuff that can't be controlled and alight on the "things you *can* do".
The potatoes are delish! Yeah, the soil testing is the way to go. Now to DO it, lol!
