Is that beautiful or what? Are you jealous? I'm betting your house isn't as perfectly clean and oraganized as mine ;)
Ok, seriously, this is what happens when you have kids! I'd like to say this was because of the traumatic day we had yesterday but it's not. Actually the floor was pretty clear when we went to bed (because of all that went on yesterday the kids didn't really play much).
That cardboard box was going to go out to recycle last night but Bridget decided it should be a clubhouse. The books (to the right) and videos (on the couch - I don't think you can see them in this picture) are from her staying up last night (she's been sleeping in the hammock for days now and who knows what time she's going to bed - far after I am that's for sure). The plates are from breakfast - eaten in the clubhouse. The markers were from decorating said clubhouse (I've just been informed the clubhouse is now a baby nursery). The shoes were left there from last night when we got home. The pile of junk in front of the box, to the left of the white bins . . . ok, that's been there a few weeks. I haven't had the energy to deal with it (maybe today). The stuff under the couch - ok, that's been there longer than a few weeks. That's the couch Oscar died behind yesterday and Robert vacuumed up the fur because I asked him to (that was Oscar's favorite hidey spot so it was pretty furry), but the toys are still there. The stuff *on* the couch - been there at least a week. The kids move it when they want to sit. The stuff on top of the green bin (full of toys) and the thing on the green chair are towels for the pool (dry at least).
But the kids are happy :) It's been worse. Far, far worse. It's been better too (usually just before a party when we've cleaned for a day :) But this is pretty standard around here. What can I say, life is messy :) So is creativity, learning and fun ;-)
