A few weeks ago I was in the car and heard a song I liked. I wrote down the title and just today found the piece of paper so I googled it. It turns out it's the theme song to the Sopranos. Hm. I've never watched that show. I just don't find mobsters entertaining. I'm all for movie violence but I like mine fake, thank you very much. Vampires, aliens and magic, sure. Things that can actually happen to me. Uh, no thanks. But that's all beside the point.
So I found out the song is Woke Up This Morning (or Chosen One) by Alabama 3. I went to youtube and found a short version with the Sopranos credits. So I kept looking. Then I found this video someone put together. It's the full song (I think - at least it's longer than the credits were) against a backdrop of a Robin Hood show.
So I'm listening to the song and watching the video because hey, I like Robin Hood as much as the next gal (men in tights - what's not to like?). And then I'm thinking wait . . . . this seems . . . familiar. I read the comments and someone mentions Michael Praed. It's ringing a bell, but it's a tiny bell and I can't hear it very well so I keep googling.
And here it is! Holy crap, is that sexy or what??? I was obsessed with this show in High School! And I totally forgot it! How could I forget this! (hmmmm, I'm having this strange urge to get back into the SCA . . . .). Or the really cool soundtrack by Clannad! Ok, I'm totally in geek happy land right now and I don't expect anyone reading this to have any idea what I'm going on about, but that's ok, I'm happy :D
(ok, I'd be happier if it wasn't $50 for season 1 on Amazon - ack! Maybe the library will help me out here :)
