It's been a busy week ;-)
Owen is six! He'd be starting first grade this September. I still can't get over that.
We had two parties for him this past week and then ordered Papa John's pizza on his actual birthday (I had homemade Thai inspired spring rolls).
Some time was spent trying to clean out my Grandma's old house. Her tenant hadn't paid rent since November and we finally got him out. He was a nice guy but had problems with depression. Finally getting into his apartment (which he left trashed for us to clean) we found out he also had a drug problem (a REAL drug problem, not just herbal). Explains a lot. Dad hired a junk company to just clear the place and pull the carpet but a week later and it still stinks of smoke.
In between all that I took Bridget to Duke Gardens. They're closing for renovation and they don't know when or if the gardens will open again (boo hoo) so it was now or never. Bridget and I had a great time but both of us forgot our cameras. Sigh. I think I need to find a way to store them by the front door. Maybe a shelf where we'll see them when we walk out.
(Oh crap. I just googled to get pictures of Duke Gardens to link to and found that the Idiots in charge have decided to DESTROY them. Because they are going "green" and apparently the hothouses don't fit into that ideal. I am so angry I probably should stop typing so just click on this link and send them a letter telling them what a stupid, horrible idea this is.)
The ending to the week was an unschooling conference I was so pysched to go to. I'll write on that later I guess.
It's a rainy, mellow day. I intend to do nothing and go nowhere this week. Last week was go go go and this week is going to be me relaxing and not going anywhere til someone makes me (which will probably be Saturday with Bridget's Girl Scout badge ceremony and the Air Force show Robert wants to go to. Sigh)
