I forgot to mention, I took Owen to see it the very next day :)
It. Was. Awesome. Ok, yes, very violent. Movie violence for the most part. One very dramatic scene where someone is almost killed in front of his children but (I hope this isn't giving too much away) Iron Man saves the day. And a man is threatened with torture at one point which was intense but Owen didn't get it. It's also pretty plot heavy. Owen would have been happy if they had just cut out the bits of plot and strung together a movie of suit building, flying and fighting :) I liked that stuff, but I also really liked the plot. And Robert Downey Jr was great in the role. So was what's her name (too lazy to look it up but she's someone famous).
But from my sci-fi geeky mom's perspective? That was a movie totally worth seeing twice in two days.
Bridget didn't want to go. Seriously. She didn't want to go. What is up with THAT? I even asked her three times til Robert told me to stop hounding the girl. I wasn't hounding her, I just figured she misunderstood the question and thought I was asking if she wanted to go for a teeth cleaning or something. She saw the clips and she didn't want to go! I still can't get over it.
Wow. I gave birth to someone who isn't a carbon copy of me. Funny how that works ;-)
Though, I have to admit Owen also gave me pause. We watched the Indiana Jones preview and, trying to contain myself from bouncing in my seat, I asked if he wanted to see that. And he said no.
It's ok. I'm over it now. Only the movie I've been waiting almost two decades to see with just the coolest (and sexiest) hero ever. Nothing to get excited over.
Oh, why doesn't he want to see it? He said there was a scorpion in the preview. Was there? That's ok, I already told Robert he has to take me and pretend to be excited.
