Ice skating!

I have a cold. I mean, really this time. Every time my allergies flare up I find myself wondering if it's a cold. When I get a real cold, there's no question. I'll have to remember that the next time I'm walking around just sneezing and mildly sniffing. Right now breathing is not the easy thing it used to be and yesterday I found myself out of breath from just walking around the house. Yeah, fun.

Yesterday morning I wasn't so bad yet and Bridget got to go skating. She likes skating and we used to go more often but she was getting a little frustrated over not being able to keep up with her friends. At one point she asked for classes like her one friend takes but she changed her mind. Bridget knows herself and she's not the class type. But she is the one-on-one attention type. So instead, we asked a really cool unschooled friend of ours (S) if she would help Bridget with her skating and she said yes. I sat up in the waiting area with Owen, my really cool unschooling mom friend :-) and her son and we watched the girls on the ice. Bridget has been rollerblading a lot this summer and I guess that helped because she was skating faster than she ever has before. She was also, with S's help, skating backwards, marching and attempting little jumps. Every now and then they'd take a break and just skate for awhile. S is very impressive. She's been skating for years and is just beautiful to watch. Bridget had an awesome time and we're going again next week.
