So my grandmother is elderly and has dementia and trying to get her help has become a full time job. I don't really have much to say about it (it would just turn into a vent) but I just wanted to mention it because it's sort of taking over my life suddenly. Like, really suddenly. This past week I've spent entire days on the phone or running errands to get paperwork done.
The kids have been patient about it. As patient as a kid can be waiting quietly on a hard bench at the Hall of Records (which cannot tell you over the phone if the record is even THERE - so yeah, the whole entire trip was a waste). I've talked to Bridget about it and she's very sympathetic about Grandma. Owen doesn't get it as much but he's pretty easy going.
Anyway, in the middle of all the things going on this week we managed to go to a park playdate Tuesday that was fun. Then on Thursday Bridget had her private skating session with her friend S. She still loves it. Absolutely loves it :-) I looked into buying her her own skates and holy crap, I had no idea they were so expensive! I've been burned before with trying to buy "cheap" things to save money and having them turn out to be junk, but at the same time, I just can't afford to spend $150 (or more!) on skates. Her birthday is next week and we're buying her a new computer monitor because hers is slowly dying. Only one really expensive present at a time, y'know?
Oh, and Franklin Institute was a ton of fun, but all the pictures came out blurry. Sigh.
