No rest for the wicked

Yesterday we went to the Liberty Science Center for the first time since it re-opened in the summer. I've heard a lot of negative comments about the renovation but we enjoyed it. There was plenty to do, plenty for Bridget to read, plenty for Owen to play with. We had a good time.

We didn't get to the fourth floor so I can't comment on that, but from what we saw our favorite was the communication exhibit. Owen loved the graffiti wall and spent a lot of time spraypainting (with an electronic can of "spraypaint"). Thankfully no one else was waiting because he spent about 20 minutes doing that. Bridget tried it out for a few minutes but then got really caught up in the other exhibits in that area. She spent the most time at the interactive body language quiz thingy. My favorite was the calligraphy.

It helped that we went at 2 in the afternoon. That's just around when the school groups are leaving so the place was practically ours. We have a membership to Newark Museum that has a reciprocal deal with LSC, so we can go for a few hours without feeling like we're wasting money. Niiiiiiiiiiiice :-) So, for $5 parking, we'll go again in a week or two and finally hit that fourth floor.

Then today was supposed to be our home day. Uh, yeah. My mom called and asked if we wanted to go to Costco so we did. We can't seem to turn down an outing. Bridget at first said "but it's supposed to be our stay at home and do nothing day" but then said she wanted to go. In the end, I think I should have just not told them about the invitation so the temptation wouldn't be there. They were playing so nice all day long at home and once we were out they turned into manic children. We all really do benefit from relaxing days to sit at home and do nothing. Maybe not every day, but once a week could be nice. So now Friday is going to be our stay at home day.
