Somerset County 4-H Fair

We went yesterday and had a blast! At first I thought it was going to be a bust but pretty soon the kids perked up and found they actually enjoyed it. I think when I said "fair" they thought rides and games so they were a little disappointed at first.

Our friend Kelly and her two daughters showed up and we spent the day with them. Good thing too since I totally forgot to bring any cash. No worries, I borrowed a lot from her and the kids had their fill of junk food. Yum!

Actually, we had so much fun we went again today. Silly me, I forgot to charge the camera batteries (that were already flagging yesterday) but I figured oh well, we took pictures of everything anyway. Wrong! It turns out we missed a ton yesterday! We did a lot of the same things today but also took part in an egg hunt, went to the construction vehicle section (where each kid actually got to briefly operate a digger), then watched the remote control cars (oh gawd those things are COOL - I want one!), saw the remote control planes (I had no idea they could go so high!), watched the go-carts and saw the cool veggie creations in the master gardener tent.

Basically, we had so much fun . . . the kids are going back tomorrow with Grandma. And I'm totally bummed I can't go with them. Oh well, there's always next year.
