Getting to see a movie on opening day :-D
We went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks today. It was the first time we'd ever gone to a movie with friends and we had a blast. The movie was cute, but the company was better ;-) The six kids sat in one row and the two moms sat behind until my friend's youngest came and sat on her lap. At first Owen sat with me but I was surprised when he went to be with the kids. He happily lasted the entire movie too. There were maybe ten other people in the theater, all little kids with moms. No one minded Owen talking to the screen because all the other little ones were too.
Before the movie we all hit the food court in the mall and then while waiting for the movie to start we hung out in the arcade. Add in the tickets and paying for popcorn (oop, ack!) and I don't want to say how much we spent today (plus a tiny Godiva chocolate treat - I can't believe how much I spent for THREE pieces of chocolate).
Owen has been drawing and Bridget has been watching Sponge Bob since we got home. A nice day overall ;-D

Sounds fun! Yes, things can add up, but when you can find Godiva chocolate in a mall, you gotta go for it.
I haven't taken the kids to a movie since we went to see Cars. Teo's mind was absolutely blown and I had to carry him out of the theater three times because he would become overwhelmed and burst into tears (luckily we were with Erik's step brother and his girlfriend so Aki could stay and enjoy the movie without interruption.
They like to watch tv (Ben 10, Noggin and PBS Kids), but aren't into new movies at this point.
They love Cars and really like "My Neighbor Totoro" which I began showing to them at home, in Japanese, when they were very young.
