Banging my head against a wall

Well, today just got a lot calmer and a lot more complicated at the same time.

My Dad is stressing out over his Mom (especially since they don't have a good relationship - he's mostly stressing over all the time he has to spend with her lately - don't blame him, she really was a pill his entire life). Anyway, he's not thinking things through and making more work for people.

Yesterday he mentioned that I should ask the hearing aid people if they test hearing also. I said I'd ask. Later in the conversation he mentioned Grandma has an appointment with an actual ear doctor. I pointed out that if she's going to a doctor why not just get the hearing tested there. Oh, ok, that makes sense.

Ok, I'm pulled a little thin lately too so it wasn't til hours later when I was chatting with my mom that I thought gee, do you think the ear doctor will test hearing aids too?

Long story short, I just called the ear doctor and the nice, chipper woman on the other end said sure, of course they'll test her hearing aid, just bring it along.

So I cancelled today's appointment to get the hearing aid tested. She'll get that tested along with her ears at Friday's appointment with the ear doctor.

But, in other news, the fire department came to Grandma's house today to pump out the basement (because yes, in only two days it filled up again and the plumber is coming this afternoon!). The fire fighters told Dad it looks like someone tried to dismantle the pump so they called the cops to report an attempted robbery. A neighbor came over and said he had things stolen from him too (with the state of his backyard I don't see how he'd notice anything gone but that's neither here nor there).

Sigh. Well, at least today I only have to deal with the plumber.

Ok, enough of that. Today is Halloween! A vampire and a skeleton are going trick or treating tonight. I've already eaten too many Mary Jane peanut butter kisses ;-)
