I'm not having much luck with Angel. It's obvious she wasn't hand raised. I think we're right about the wedding release thing. From reading up on Doves and pictures I've seen (and how much her flying has improved in the time we've had her) I think she was young when my sister found her in that parking lot. Probably bred by someone unethical or ignorant enough to just release her for a wedding and not put much effort into raising her right beforehand.
I haven't told the kids yet, but I'm thinking of looking for a new home for her. I don't think she's happy here. She doesn't seem to like interacting with people (ringnecks are supposed to be very tame birds). She probably should have a bird companion but the idea of getting another one is not appealing to me.
She is adorable and sweet and I want the best for her though (well, ok, even if she wasn't adorable and sweet I still wouldn't want her given to some animal abuser). So if I can't find someone I approve of (someone who already has company for her and knows birds) then we'll just keep her.
