Ok, maybe slight exaggeration, but it feels like it ;-)
I love February. I always hear (and read on blogs) people talking of how they hate February, how cold it is, how dreary, how wintery. I wonder if we're experiencing the same month?
February is when I actually notice the sun is out longer. The weather is just that much, um, less frigid. For a few years now, February is when I start to not feel like crap. This year I didn't actually feel like crap because this was the first winter on armour thyroid replacement (yay! love the stuff!). But still, I feel noticably more energetic these past few weeks.
So this morning we took a walk to CVS to get a toy car that Bridget wanted back in December. Then we walked to Walgreens to get the Plasma Kreap toy Owen wanted. They both used their own money. It was cold, yes, but the sun was lovely. By the way home we were all heating up nicely.
This past weekend I was PMSing but at least I realized it. I went off to Whole Foods mostly to be by myself but also to get the few items I have to buy there. While in the store, in a PMS impulse buy, I signed the kids up for pizza making classes today.
It was great. Seriously. For a cost of $5 per kid, they got to pick herbs in the hydroponic garden, make a pizza, have a can of 365 soda to wash it down, have a mini tour of the prepared foods area and then take home a cotton apron, a cotton chef's hat (they wore both while cooking) and a sample package of fruit lollipops. All with a bunch of other kids. Both of them were in heaven. We cut it a little too close though and I felt bad we had to take the pizza and run to get the car home to Robert. We all want to do more kid's classes there but not on a day that Robert has school. Or maybe I can snag my mom to drive us.
The other great thing from today was the Xbox! This weekend I scored an Xbox and 5 games off Freecycle. The power plug got left behind so we picked it up today and I managed to hook the thing up. For three hours now it's been on. Dance, Dance Revolution is impossible, but cracks us all up. Narnia was hard, but fun. Cars is the easiest because you keep crashing but nothing bad happens. We haven't even tried the Quiddich or snowboard games yet.
This thing is awesome. It was about time I got a video game system. Yes, *I*. I wanted one more than the kids. Of course now I got it and I've played like 20 minutes. They keep hogging it ;-)
Tomorrow should be a great playdate, followed by the library. Wednesday we visit Grandma during the day and night time is Bridget's last session of Tae Kwon Do. Thursday is a pizza and pottery date for Bridget (not sure yet what Owen will be doing). Thursday night I hook up with my aunt (sans kids) to plan my sister's baby shower. And Friday . . . Friday I got nothing. Thank goodness. I think I'll need a day to chill ;-)
