The Shoes of Belmar

I'm not sure when we first noticed these, but they were definitely there this past summer. Maybe last one too? Random shoes, bolted to the undersides of the benches. Guerilla art?

You can see with this one, they are really bolted on there. That's a screw and a big washer holding that shoe on.

These are from the bench area next to the playground between the 16th and 17th entrances. I wonder if there are any more in other locations. Maybe next time we can take a walk to another bench area and go shoe hunting.
